Fishing Warden Vacancy – Job Description May 26



There is a closed season between the 14th March and the 16th June inclusive, when fishing is not allowed. This is strictly enforced.
Fishing is only allowed in Scotsman’s Pit, which is bounded by Abbey Road, Walcups Lane and Station Road.
Eligibility & Access
- Fishing on Sundays is restricted to residents of Great Massingham Parish only.
- All anglers must hold:
- A valid UK Rod Fishing Licence (Environment Agency requirement)
- A Scotman’s Pit Fishing Permit
- Day permits cost £6.50 and are available:
- From the Village Store (Monday–Saturday, from 7:00am)
- From the Fishing Warden
- Season Permits cost £21 and are available:
- Through application to the Parish Clerk; clerk@greatmassingham-pc.gov.uk
- Residents Permits are Free of charge and available from The Post Office or by application to the Parish Clerk: clerk@greatmassingham-pc.gov.uk
The Post Office also issues day permits and season permits for village residents only.
If you are a non-resident seeking a season permit, please contact the Parish Council for approval.
Fishing on Sundays is for Great Massingham residents only.
