Fishing Warden Vacancy –  Job Description May 26

Scotman’s Pit

 

 

There is a closed season between the 14th March and the 16th June inclusive, when fishing is not allowed.  This is strictly enforced.

​Fishing is only allowed in Scotsman’s Pit, which is bounded by Abbey Road, Walcups Lane and Station Road.

Eligibility & Access

  • Fishing on Sundays is restricted to residents of Great Massingham Parish only.
  • All anglers must hold:
    • A valid UK Rod Fishing Licence (Environment Agency requirement)
    • A Scotman’s Pit Fishing Permit
  • Day permits cost £6.50 and are available:
    • From the Village Store (Monday–Saturday, from 7:00am)
    • From the Fishing Warden
  • Season Permits cost £21 and are available:
  •          Residents Permits are Free of charge and available from The Post Office or by application to the Parish Clerk: clerk@greatmassingham-pc.gov.uk  

​The Post Office also issues day permits and season permits for village residents only.

If you are a non-resident seeking a season permit, please contact the Parish Council for approval.

​Fishing on Sundays is for Great Massingham residents only.
